Appian Way - Regina Viarum - Origines

On the occasion of the nomination of the Via Appia - Regina Viarum as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mickey Mouse Magazine celebrates the ancient road that led from Rome to Brindisi with special issue 3518 on newsstands from Wednesday, April 26, from which the 5-episode comic strip story "Mickey Mouse and the Way of History" a journey through time and space along the Via Appia in the company of Mickey Mouse and friends, written by screenwriter Francesco Artibani, will begin.

Ahead of the release of the first episode of the famous comic book on Saturday, April 22 at the Archaeological District of Minturnae, where is one of the best preserved stretches of the ancient Appian Way , two initiatives will take place:

At 2:30 p.m. the Workshop "The Way of History," aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 10 years, which will be held by official Panini Comics Italia artists, cartoonist Marco Palazzi and screenwriter Francesco Artibani (limited places, reservation on WhatsApp at 334 129226, indicating participant's name, surname and age).

Starting at 4 p.m. the scene will shift to the Appian Way and in particular to one of the best-preserved stretches of the entire route, located within the Archaeological District of Ancient Minturnae. The area will come alive with the 'Origines' event , which through characters in period costume will tell the thousand faces of the Appian Way by narrating the history, construction techniques and life scenes that characterized the route of the most important Roman road. The theatricalized guided tours will begin at 4 p.m. with free group admission every 20 minutes until 6 p.m.
The event will end at about 7:30 pm.

The events are promoted by the Province of Latina and the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with Panini Comics Italia.
