International conference "Benedictine landscapes: territory, cultural heritage and spirituality"

The DTC Lazio Center of Excellence is organizing an international conference dedicated to the role of Benedictine monasteries as places of memory, culture and innovation. For four days scholars, institutions, researchers and practitioners will discuss the value of monastic landscapes and contemporary challenges related to digital transition, sustainability and cultural heritage enhancement.
The conference will explore topics such as monastic networks as European cultural infrastructures, the evolution of productive landscapes, and digital innovation applied to cultural heritage: from the digitization of the manuscripts of Montecassino to the digital twin project of the chapel of St. Gregory at the Sacro Speco, to new models of participatory enhancement.

Participants included representatives from the National Museums Lazio Regional Directorate, including Elisabetta Scungio, Monica Di Gregorio, Carmelina Ariosto, Viola Corbari and Lorenzo Mantovani.

A workshop for reflection and planning, to rethink the relationship between culture, territory and technology as an engine for future development.
