On Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the"Orto del Centauro Chirone" Ecomuseum in Collepardo (FR), it will be possible to participate in the showcooking event SPICES: Taste, Smell and Memory in Europe, as part of the Council of Europe-funded cross-border project, which co-involves Italy, Romania and Spain. The lead agency for the project is the Aromas Association Itinerarium Salutis - The European Route of Historic Pharmacies and Medicinal Gardens-Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
During the event, the local community will present traditional recipes made with medicinal plants, followed by interviews to collect testimonies intended for an Oral Memory Archive on the culinary, medicinal and ritual uses of these plants. The European Itinerary of Historic Pharmacies and Medicinal Gardens sees among its stops the Charterhouse of Trisulti, with its 18th-century Pharmacy that testifies to the main activity of the Charterhouse until modern times, related to the production of medicines and liquors. The interior preserves the 19th-century furnishings, showcases with apothecary jars and cabinets containing boxes for herbs.
For the occasion, the Pharmacy of the Carthusian Monastery of Trisulti will be open according to the usual visiting hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the Lazio National Museums Regional Directorate, the General Directorate of Museums, the "Noi Amiamo Collepardo" Association and the "Garden of the Centaur Chiron" Ecomuseum.
