House of Saint Thomas

The House of Saint Thomas Aquinas lies inside the ancient Count's Palace complex, large parts of which are still standing. The Torre del Maschio, in the centre of the mediaeval town, was also a part of it.
In a recent conservation project it has been partially rebuilt, but retains its ancient Gothic windows on the facade.     

The display case inside is home to four original seventeenth century drawings by the Flemish artist Otto Van Veen, a pupil of Rubens, depicting episodes from the life of Saint Thomas Aquinas.
A series of explicatory panels presents graphic reconstructions of the Count's Palace and historical photographs of the mediaeval town centre, as well as the history of the Saint.
