The Harmony of a New World
With Daniel Lumera and Franco Berrino
In the extraordinary setting of the Roman Theater of the Archaeological Park of Minturnae, as part of the literary review Libri sulla Cresta dell'Onda, on Saturday, September 14, a very special evening of inspired words, profound suggestions and live music, which will alternate with moments of silence, to rediscover together the well-being and values that are the basis of existence.
An evocative and deeply emotional event, enriched by practices led by Daniel Lumera, a reference in wellness sciences and meditation practice, and by the inspirations, suggestions and advice of Franco Berrino, physician and epidemiologist, former director of the Department of Preventive and Predictive Medicine at the National Institute of Tumors in Milan.
An invitation to an encounter with oneself, others, silence, music and nature, in a place of unique charm; an evening to try to understand where to start again to build together a New World under the banner of harmony and respect for all forms of Life.
Daniel Lumera and Franco Berrino met several years ago in Sardinia during a meeting on prevention, wellness and longevity through lifestyle.
From that meeting was born a collaboration based on the same values that unite science and ancient traditions, but above all, a deep and authentic friendship blossomed, sealed by several books written together.
The Odyssey and the art of being mortal
Friday, September 20, 2024, at 9:15 p.m.
On Friday, Sept. 20, the Roman Theater of the Mintunae Archaeological Park will host Alessandro D'Avenia for the fourth and final event of the thirty-first season of the literary review Libri Sulla Cresta dell'Onda.
D'Avenia traces the cantos of the Odyssey, the best-known and best-loved epic poem of our civilization, as an art of living, and makes it shine with all its light. He takes us through this work as a scholar of Classical Humanities who has elected it as his main area of interest, as a teacher who has been promoting its unabridged reading aloud for years, and as an intellectual skilled in interpreting the spirit of the age. And in recounting the vicissitudes of Ulysses he finds there his own personal experience and the path of every man toward his own original existential fulfillment.
Alessandro D'Avenia (Palermo, 1977) Writer, teacher and screenwriter. He attended the Liceo Classico in Palermo and graduated from La Sapienza in Rome in Greek Literature. He later earned a Ph.D. in Classical Literature and taught Greek and Latin at the high school.
His novels are translated in more than twenty countries, and in 2012 he received the Father Pino Puglisi International Prize for "the commitment shown in favor of young people."
