Aleardo Nardinocchi. Landscapes (November 4-19, 2023)
At the Giacomo Manzù Museum in Ardea, belonging to the Lazio Regional Museums Directorate of the Ministry of Culture, a conference ...named "Rome," an Aprilia square in the historical-artistic context of the 1970s and the opening of the exhibition Aleardo Nardinocchi. Landscapes.
The conference, at which speakers include Stefano Petrocchi, Maria Sole Cardulli, Lanfranco Principi, Marco Moroni, Federica Calandro, Elisa Dellarossa, Brigida Mascitti, Simona Zecchi, Dora Nevi, Roberto Nardinocchi, and Tiziana Marinelli, aims to analyze, in the light of the historical, artistic and architectural context of the 1970s, the then-occurring redesign of Piazza Roma in Aprilia, dating in the previous edition to the 1930s. This is the same round of years in which the Giacomo Manzù Museum saw the light of day.
On the same day, the museum opens the related exhibition Aleardo Nardinocchi. Landscapes, curated by Federica Calandro, Maria Sole Cardulli, Francesca Nardinocchi and Roberto Nardinocchi, with installation by Delfini Group and Roberto Nardinocchi, and photographs by Ermanno Puccetti.
Aleardo Nardinocchi (1974-2015), an architect and painter who died prematurely, is the creator of the design of a "floating" base in the fountain in Aprilia's Piazza Roma for a sculpture by Umberto Mastroianni.
In his works, which move from an expressionist taste influenced by the climate of the 1980s, through the Roman tradition, from Forma 1 to the Scuola di Piazza del Popolo, the Pontine landscape is reinterpreted by the architect's gaze in a dense meditation on the space that is the protagonist of his production.
With the conference and exhibition, the museum fulfills its missions, which go hand in hand with the enhancement of the work of Giacomo Manzù, as a center for interpreting the territory and promoting contemporary art, in line with the choice of the Master who wanted his museum in Ardea.
