On Sunday, Sept. 24, a concert/performance by the Renaissance Company "TRES LUSORES" will be held at the Jupiter Hall as part of the Review "CHURCHES, PALACES AND CASTLES IN MUSIC " - Sweet melodies, songs, dances, flavors and arts of the Renaissance along the pilgrims' paths - Ed. 2023, beginning at 5:30 p.m., a concert organized under the patronage of the MiC - MINISTRY OF CULTURE, the MiC - Regional Directorate of Museums Lazio, the Lazio Region, the Province of Rome, the Province of Latina, the Province of Viterbo, the Municipality of Cori, the European Association of Vie Francigene, the Via Francigena Committee of the South, the Pro Loco Cori, the A.R.T.Es.I.A. Association of Rome and other municipalities participating in the project.
The concert/show, designed to enhance the Cultural Heritage of the Lazio region through live performance, offers a refined exploration of thematic programs, especially from the 1500s, while remaining faithful to the original sounds and interpretations. In an atmosphere of emotions and ancient pleasures that involve the audience, the performance gives a vivid and evocative image of the music and dance repertoire of the Italian Renaissance. The subject of the proposal, the HISTORICAL REENactment of "L'Arte del Ballare ò de i Balletti" by Maestro Fabritio Caroso da Sermoneta (1526-1605), Renaissance music and dances faithfully taken up and reconstructed from the ancient treatises of the Sermonetan master "Il Ballarino" of 1581 and "Nobiltà di Dame" of 1600. The dances described in the two treatises, with courtly titles (Alta Regina, Ardente Sole, Fulgente Stella, Gloria d'Amore, Chiara Stella, Bella Gioiosa, etc.), which Caroso made in his continuous wanderings among the Courts and Seignories of Italy and Europe, are conspicuously dedicated each to Queens and Gentlewomen of France, Spain and Italy, determined with the heading "in praise" of the same, together with a sonnet, madrigal or villanelle extolling their virtues.
Composed of experienced musicians and dancers, young and old, from different cities in the area, the Company, through extensive scientific research, has achieved the goal of the construction and realization of a very special concert/show performed in fine 16th-century costumes.
At the end, spectators will be offered a small banquet of simple local Renaissance dishes and sweets prepared by Trattoria "Settecamini" and Biscottificio "Trifelli e Martufi," all from Cori.
