Ancient Contemporary: Spirits of Olympia between Casinum and Minturnae

"Ancient Contemporary: Spirits of Olympia between Casinum and Minturnae." The initiative celebrates the 19th Day of the Contemporary and will be held tomorrow Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Cassino National Archaeological Museum and Archaeological Area of Casinum and the Minturnae Archaeological Complex and Antiquarium in Minturno, with free admission to the sites (8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) and an extraordinary evening opening of the Cassino National Archaeological Museum and the Minturnae Antiquarium (8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.).

In these places of culture is currently hosting the temporary exhibition "Spirits of Olympia. Images of Paritani curated by Marco Musmeci" which presents equally divided between the museum venues of Minturno and Cassino, more than 60 images from a research project by the Paritani studio.

This is a series of black-and-white photographs that investigate the relationship between athletic gesture and context, in a perfect relationship with the works housed in the two museums (such as the Cassino Athlete/Hero, the statue of Augustus, or the limb from the suicidal Galata) and to the monuments of Antiquity, as evidenced by the amphitheaters of Casinum and, if only ideally, that of Minturnae.
