Closure of the National Archaeological Museum of Italic Peoples "Amedeo Maiuri"

As of Oct. 1, 2025, the "Amedeo Maiuri" Archaeological Museum of Italic Peoples will close to the public to allow for the start of extraordinary maintenance and refurbishment works also financed with PNRR funds earmarked for the removal of physical and cognitive barriers in museums, libraries and archives to allow wider access and participation in culture.
In the coming weeks, however, the Museum will not go "into hibernation," but will prepare to tell new stories and welcome new exhibits. We will continue to tell you about the behind-the-scenes work and the many new developments that will come with the reopening of new rooms and the display of previously unseen materials.
