Special openings of the Archaeological Park of the Villa of Domitian
The Regional Directorate National Museums Lazio has acquired the archaeological park of the Villa of Domitian, a hidden treasure in the heart of the Circeo National Park.
The Villa of Domitian stands in a spectacular location on the eastern shores of Lake Paola and covers nearly 46 hectares, making it one of the largest imperial residences in Lazio, second only to Villa Adriana in Tivoli.
A masterpiece of hydraulic engineering, in fact, Emperor Domitian had an aqueduct built that conveyed water from the Molella spring directly to the villa, feeding monumental cisterns and refined thermal facilities.
