Between two fires

On Saturday, Nov. 4 at 9 p.m., on the occasion of National Unity Day and Armed Forces Day. and in collaboration with theGustav Line Garigliano Front Association, Francesco Caucci will give the lecture "Between Two Fires. The damage to cultural heritage from Cassino to Garigliano."

This is an interesting in-depth study of the wartime events of World War II that marked Cassino and the Garigliano Basin, and is a first step towards the celebrations of the80th Anniversary of the Liberation. The young scholar will illustrate, also with the help of unpublished images, the events that affected the history of the communities and the rich archaeological, artistic and architectural heritage of the area. The initiative is among the events organized by director Marco Musmeci for the Ministry of Culture's Enhancement Plan 2023, and at the end of the lecture, it will be possible to visit the National Archaeological Museum "Gianfilippo Carettoni" rediscovering the important testimonies it holds, in light of the historical framework outlined by Caucci.
