Cardinal Troiano Acquaviva of Aragon in Caprarola in the work of Georg Kaspar De Prenner from the Farnese to the Bourbons
Meeting on Saturday, May 18, 2024 h. 5:00 p.m. - Jupiter Hall
The important presence of Cardinal Troiano Acquaviva d'Aragona, ambassador of Philip V and Charles III of Bourbon in Rome for the personal devotion of Elisabetta Farnese ( 1735 - 1747 ), represents a new appreciation of the Caprarola palace. Cardinal Acquaviva's stay especially on holiday in the historic palace now complements Leopoldo Sebastiani's ( 1741 ) "Description" with new information from the cardinal's unpublished Inventory and, in particular, on the commission of the restorations and then the work " I Fasti Farnesiani" by Georg Kaspar De Prenner ( 1748 ).
