The Farnese and Architecture. Court city and territory from Pope Paul III to Elizabeth queen of Spain
Caprarola (VT)
On Saturday, September 7 at 5 p.m., the Sala di Giove of the Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola will host the presentation of the volume I Farnese e l'architettura. Court City and Territory from Pope Paul III to Elizabeth Queen of Spain, edited by Bruno Adorni and Carlo Mambriani (GBEditoriA, Rome 2023).
The editors of the volume will speak at the event, organized by the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Lazio and the University of Tuscia.
After institutional greetings, the publication will also be illustrated thanks to the video projection of films shot especially for the great exhibition on the Farnese held in Parma in 2022.
The volume builds on the specialized studies conducted throughout his career by Bruno Adorni, a longtime lecturer in History of Architecture at the University of Parma, extended to the final period of dynastic patronage by his student Carlo Mambriani, also a lecturer in History of Architecture at the same university. An international team of 31 specialists was activated to present the state of the art and numerous new developments on the entire parabola of the relationship between the members of the dynasty and architecture.
Admission to the meeting is free while places are available.
